ONE NIIIIINEE… two five? “Sneaking” Actives. 90 years of Pi Alpha Phi History.

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

Bros, Hope you had a great summer. Thanks to all the bros that came out to this year’s National Convention back in June. For those that couldn’t make it, we recap the crowd favorite presentation: Project Legacy, celebrating 90 years of Pi Alpha Phi history. 3 out of 4 bros said they would come again - so looking forward to seeing y’all in Dallas for Convention 2020. More details coming soon! Fraternally yours, Joseph Lih, VP External ============= PROJECT LEGACY Fraternity Historian Richard Din has been leading Project Legacy, the Fraternity’s historical research. At convention, he gave a presentation on his latest findings. Browse the current archives and get a blast from the past by listening to interviews of Gaing Chan (brother of charters Wing and Chack Chan) and Tim Chew, members who joined the fraternity in the 1940's. Listen in as Ron Chang, current National President, tells the story of why he and other brothers somehow went on a week-long ski trip instead of class. Take a look at scanned slides from the 1960's and see how life was like as a brother of Pi Alpha Phi at the time and what has changed and remained the same. Interested in helping expand the archives for future generations? There are plenty of ways you can help, including sending any pictures and documents (such as meeting minutes, pledge books, etc) to nb@pialphaphi.com. In addition, we are kicking off a new project to help locate old paddles; if you have any paddles or know where they are, please contact us so we can photograph and store them for decades to come. =============== National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) is only a few weeks away! Pi Alpha Phi encourages our members to work with APIAVote on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, to help voters in our community be#VoteReady this coming November.

What matters in 2019? There are thousands of state and local elections happening this year--not to mention the 2020 presidential primaries and caucuses! This is a great opportunity to make sure our communities are represented in 2019 and 2020.

If you or your chapter is interested in participating, sign up at apia.vote/nvrd-2019. For questions, email jbaik@apiavote.org or field@apiavote.org. ========== Free Financial Tools!
