Pi Alpha Phi Announces Closure of Student Chapters

On August 1, 2023, Pi Alpha Phi National Fraternity announced the closure of all undergraduate chapters.

Since 1929, Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity has been a mechanism for students to develop a Tradition of Excellence, based upon the shared values of Academic Excellence, Asian-American Awareness, Brotherhood, Leadership, and Philanthropy.

Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity is proud its role in advancing the Asian American Fraternal Movement

Unfortunately, recent years have seen an increasingly challenging environment for Fraternity and Sorority Life. Lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, declining university enrollment, and increasing financial pressures, have created an unsustainable environment for our student chapters.

While some current students may still be attending school, Pi Alpha Phi does not recognize, endorse, nor support operations of these groups. Students at these schools are not allowed to join these organizations and should take note that should they choose to join, they will NOT be recognized as members of Pi Alpha Phi and may also open themselves up to sanctions from their local university.
